Ecucational Trail Javoříčko

Where Nature Meets History

The educational trail spans 1 km and follows solid paths around the Memorial to the Victims of World War II. In the spring of 1945, the residents of the village were already expecting the war to end. Instead, they faced senseless and deeply tragic gunfire, claiming the lives of 38 innocent men from Javoříčko, and their homes were burned down. The trail's nine stops attempt to explain what happened here and why. In some places, the foundations of houses are marked, and plaques display the names of their last owners, as well as the feelings of those who survived.

Honoring History and Memories

The memorial was built to mark the 10th anniversary of the burning of Javoříčko. This solemn site features a rectangular platform made of smooth stone blocks. Its centerpiece is the Victory sculpture, a group of six figures (a young man with a hammer, a woman with wheat and a sickle, an elderly woman, a boy, a man with a flag bearing a star, and a woman with a branch), standing at a height of 500 cm and carved from Hořice sandstone. The sculpture stands on a 212 cm high pedestal, adorned with inscribed plaques. Javoříčko is often referred to as the "Moravian Lidice."

Educational Trail Bouzov

Journey Through History and Nature Beneath Bouzov Castle

Between the villages of Bouzov and Javoříčko, a beautiful path winds through the valley along the Javoříčka stream. Although not very wide, the path is so enticing. Unfortunately, cars occasionally drive along it, despite entry for motor vehicles being prohibited on both ends. Near the end of the educational trail, just before Javoříčko, there is one of many springs in the Litovel region, named "V korýtkách". It is said to offer high-quality drinking water. The spring is located to the left of the path, across a meadow and up a hill. Along the educational trail, there are seven stops with information, including details about the Panský Ponds, ending just before Javoříčko.

The Špraněk Stone Castle

The Hidden Secrets of Castle in the Woods

The stone castle is located between the Javoříčko Caves and the village of Vojtěchov, in a karst area with adjacent, well-preserved beech forests. This rock formation is part of the Špraněk National Nature Reserve and shares its name with the educational trail that passes through. It is a massive limestone rock formation with rare vegetation, rising 54 meters above the stream’s surface. From the lookout platform with a railing, visitors are treated to beautiful views of the valley and surrounding landscape. A few meters below, at a height of 25 meters, there is a partially collapsed rock arch, within which lies the entrance to a large sinkhole cave.
